Did you know that Québec would not have become the city it is today without the Côte-de-Beaupré? The first European settlers arrived there nearly 400 years ago. Known as the granary of Québec City, the Côte-de-Beaupré is one of the cradles of French America. Located in Château-Richer, the Aux Trois Couvents museum invites you to discover the history, heritage, and culture of this beautiful region from the 17th century to the present day, thanks to its permanent exhibition. The archaeological remains of the first two convents (1694 and 1830) visible through pits in the ground will surprise you. As a bonus, you can explore the temporary comic strip exhibition: Beyond the King’s Daughters – Finding Her Voice, 350 Years Later.
Don’t forget to visit the cultural café for a break in a welcoming environment. You will also find books and Dégustons Côte-de-Beaupré products for sale on site. In the summer, a bicycle stop with a picnic table is available for users of the Marie-Hélène Prémont bike route.

Sainte-Anne-de-Beaupré
Located in Sainte-Anne-de-Beaupré, Atelier Paré invites you to listen to popular Québécois tales and legends while discovering the art of wood sculpture, a traditional skill adorning the majority of our churches. Take the time to explore stories of werewolves, will-o’-the-wisps, mistigris, or characters who have populated our imagination for generations. The visit, accompanied by the storyteller, lasts 15 minutes.
You can also observe the artist-sculptors at work and learn more about their creative process. Founded by master sculptor Alphonse Paré, the workshop welcomes thousands of travelers from all over the world each year. In summer, a beautiful garden with informative panels on our Québécois legends and a terrace will enhance your visit.

Château-Richer
Discover how a passionate craftsman and his family have been perpetuating the tradition of copper embossing since 1927 at Cuivres d’art Albert Gilles ! Founded by artist Albert Gilles, this art has been passed down through five women in the family. The two museums will amaze you with their unique and inspiring works, as well as their architectural achievements around the world.
In the Christorama, you can admire the 50 original panels depicting the life of Jesus. These panels were designed by craftsman Albert Gilles over a period of 15 years and attract many pilgrims from different religious communities each year.
You can also participate in a copper art repoussé workshop and leave with your small creation. The shop, on the other hand, will surprise you with the variety of original and unique pieces: ornaments, mirrors, jewelry, bookmarks, magnets, and much more.

Beaupré
Nestled on the hillside in the heart of a unique natural site, the Mont Sainte-Anne Art Gallery is a true oasis where art and vast spaces come together. Located one kilometer from the ski resort, you will discover a curated collection of paintings and sculptures by Canadian and international artists, including the owner-artist Giovanni Gerometta.

Visual art lovers will be pleased by the vast selection of artwork at the Ni Vu Ni Cornu gallery, located just a stone’s throw from Basilique Saint-Anne-de-Beaupré and the new pier, that allows access to the river and offers a breathtaking view on the coastline. Qualities valued by the organisation include originality and fun. These are translated through colored and dynamic artwork achieved with various techniques such as paint, sculpture, photography or textile. You can find artisanal objects made in Quebec such as jewelry, bags, ceramics and soaps. More than 40 artists were carefully chosen by a jury to be exposed at the gallery. Nested in a historical building from the end of the 19th century, the gallery boasts a unique charm.

Its renown has gone global − even Pope Francis came for a visit, in Summer 2022! Sainte-Anne-de-Beaupré Shrine is the most ancient pilgrimage site in North America. Entering is stepping into a sacred place where reigns an atmosphere of peacefulness, while its interior appointments are like countless pages from an age-old history book. Paintings, mosaics, stained glass, stone and wood sculptures all reveal admirably well the extraordinary history of this classified heritage site since 2001, which welcomes a million pilgrims and visitors every year.

Set in a natural and enchanting landscape, the New France Road is one of the oldest thoroughfares in North America. It will immerse you in history by revealing its cultural, heritage, and agritourism attractions. Explore the circuit according to your desires using the interactive map, whether by car, bike, or even from your living room. A wealth of content awaits you (photos, audio tours, informational capsules), as well as an extensive inventory of buildings, archaeological sites, ancestral lands, and commemorative plaques of founding families. Throughout the New France Road territory, signs with QR codes take you directly to the descriptive sheet associated with the visited location. A specific circuit located in the heart of Sainte-Anne-de-Beaupré also allows you to take a walking tour.
