Spring is the season of choice to visit Côte-de-Beaupré! The Saint-Lawrence River in the background and the shiny green tones of nature waking up after winter is a sight to see each year.
This new season is the perfect time to go hiking without being too hot or too cold, to have lunch outside and take advantage of the sun’s warm rays, trying to get your tan going. Of course, Mont-Sainte-Anne’s spring skiing is what makes Côte-de-Beaupré famous at this time of year, but there is also so much more to discover during your stay. Here are our four suggestions for the area to celebrate the arrival of warmer temperatures.

Snow Geese on the Cap Tourmente
As of the end of April, birdwatchers will be delighted at the Cap Tourmente National Wildlife Area, an impressive territory of about 24 square kilometres, snuck between river and mountains. It is the time of the year chosen by the snow geese to come back from the south. A truly impressive spectacle to admire! Some days, birdwatchers can count 50 000 of them on the foreshore, feeding in the marsh. They will stay in the area until approximately the third week of May. La Cime is a trail of 9.2 km long and is particularly fitting to observe the birds. It requires about 4.5 hours for the round trip, but the view is definitely worth it! A few easier paths are also suggested here.

Starting on March 14th, the area is open to the public from Monday to Friday, from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. (closed on weekends and on April 15th and 18th). The site will reopen 7 days a week on April 23rd, after the spring snowmelt. Visit the website to consult the complete opening hours.
If you are into running and you wish to discover the Cap Tourmente area in a sporty way, it is possible! Sign up for the Tour du Cap Tourmente, a festive and family-friendly event taking place on June 10th and 11th, 2022. Several courses of various distances are suggested (5, 10 and 21.1 km), in addition to two circuits for children of 1 and 2.5 km. On June 10th at 6 p.m., a festive 5 km “Gourmet Walk” invites participants to an epicurean walking course. Promising!
