In the winter for either cross-country or alpine skiing, Mont-Sainte-Anne is the place to choose. Visit the snowmobile marked trails in the Côte-de-Beaupré taking you through extraordinary landscape, bringing together the magic of sparkling snow. If you are adventurous, put on your showshoes at Sentier des Caps. hould you prefer a walking tour along the trails or admire the beauty of the Route de la Nouvelle-France by car, the choice is yours. Whatever your choice may be, we are sure that your winter evening will end in the comfort of a cosy cottage or a good restaurant, close to the fire, with a glass of locally made wine and the smell of a hearty meal. Agrotourism

Quebec's agricultural tradition is firmly rooted along the Côte-de-Beaupré. Whether it be to meet with the farmers, learn from their knowledge, taste their products, agrotourism is a unique way to discover the region. Along the way stop in one of the vineyard, buy fresh fruits and vegetables, visit the bee museum, the cheese dairy...Take the opportunity to savour regional dishes on site or take them home with you. Whether you are gourmet or gourmand, we are sure you will not be able to resist a mead, a rosée, a white wine, a red wine, apple butter with fresh bread from the baker, maple gelly, a chococaramiel, jam, fine chocolate, ...Mmmm...

If you are eager for a breath of fresh air and freedom, if you dream of a week-end filled with activities or just to take time to breathe, the Côte-de-Beaupré is the place to be. The region offers over 200 km of hiking trails, something to satisfy all hikers. Whether it be a family discovery hike on a small trail, admire our natural attractions, or take a long 2 to 3 days long hike, the choice of these destinations is yours.

Culture & heritage

The Côte-de-Beaupré is proud of its museums, interpretation centres, genealogy centre, mills, culture, fields and vineyards, wildlife and wild geese.The Basilica and the Route de la Nouvelle-France revealing its history, secrets and details of the region. The galleries and art centres are inviting for visitors, whereas the craftsmen's boutiques demonstrate the ingenuity and talent of the craftsmen.

Horse back riding

What could be more fantastic for horse lovers than a day in the saddle, taking in the scenery? You can gallop through the fields and valleys, or just ride through the forest.

Sugar shacks

One of Quebec's natural wealth, are the inescapable sugar groves along Quebec's vacation routes. You will find the best maple products available. Certified organic syrup, maple sugar, maple butter, maple jelly, maple caramel...a whole variety of products are offered throughout the year.

Art galleries and exhibits

Visit our art galleries. Let yourself be taken in by an artist at work or by the exhibition of their paintings and sculptures. Either through wood or copper, they depict the beauty of the landscape on a canvas. They mix tradition and modernism. The artists open the doors of their studios where you can witness the birth of their creations.

Golf

There are three golf courses on the Côte-de-Beaupré, each with their own particularity. The Grand Vallon, located at the foot of Mont-Sainte-Anne, offers a normal 72 undulated 18 holes course with 6583 yards. Just facing Mont Sainte-Anne, St-Ferréol welcomes golfers to a medium undulated 18 holes, 6325 yards course with a normal of 72. The Royal Quebec Golf Club, operating since 1925, is located in Boischatel. This highly-rated partly private club offers 36 holes and is considered one of the oldest club in America. Whatever choice you make, all services available within reach, from the boutique to the dining room, and don't forget the terrasse where you can enjoy all the pleasures of the after golf.

What are your plans? Recreational time, sports, relaxation or sensational? The Côte-de-Beaupré is the place for your leisure time. Either with Karting, canyoning, rafting, canopy-canyon, parapenting, canoeing, bowling, swimming, billiards, you could go from extreme to family activities in the same day. Snowmobiling

Quebec is one of the premier snowmobiling destinations in the world. The marked trails will take you through exceptional landscapes and panoramic views, combining the magic of the snow with the charm and magnificence of the Saint-Lawrence River. On the Côte-de-Beaupré, the trails are managed by the Snowmobile Club le Sapin d'Or. We are part of the global network of 342 km of trails which give access to the Charlevoix and Saguenay-Lac-Saint-Jean regions. The Trans-Quebec trail no. 3 crosses our territory, as well as the regional trails 300 and 320. The trail signs will indicate access to the services offered by our region, via Sainte-Anne-de-Beaupré, Beaupré and Saint-Ferréol-les-Neiges. Accomodations. restaurants, service stations, everything is in place to accommodate the snowmobilers.

Museums and Interpretation Centres

Welcome to the people, the museums, the crafts and traditions along the Côte-de-Beaupré and discover the local expertise. Figures of the era, tour guides and interpreters, bee-keepers, sculptors, millers are there for your eyes to see and tell you about their history. The items of their daily life being exposed pays tribute to their life

Bird-watching

It's in the Côte-de-Beaupré that more than a million snow geese decide to stop along teir migration path in the spring and fall. Come and see this spectacle that is unique to Québec. The Cap Tourmente National Wildlife Area, one of the best birdwatching locations in Québec, allows you to observe these magnificent white geese and 305 other species at your leisure, all in a protected natural area.

Hiking

A stroll or a hike ... a stroll or a hike in complete liberty...take in the snow covered summits or green pastures, or the beautiful Saint-Lawrence River, what a spectacular sight. Be it the Cap Tourmente National Wildlife Reserve, or Le Sentier des Caps de Charlevoix trails, the Mestashibo trails, Les Sept Chutes outdoor interpretation centre, the Sainte-Anne Canyon or Mont Sainte-Anne, the quality of the trails and the diversity of the landscape will suprise you. Religious sites

Very early on, the Côte-de-Beaupré traced an indelible mark in the religious history in North America. The Sanctuary of Sainte-Anne-de-Beaupré was the site of the first pilgrimages in North America, beginning in the times of New France. Sailors and the Province of Québec have made Good Saint Anne their Patron Saint. This region accounts for three of the oldest parishes in Quebec. Well-known artists such as Alphonse Paré, Louis Jobin, the Baillarge's, Albert Gilles, decorated our churches and many more throughout Quebec and elsewhere.

Skiing

Downhill Skiing
Hostess to several World Cups and known mostly for the great quality of its skiable territory by experts, Mont-Sainte-Anne offers a large variety for skiers, choices of ski runs and trails to answers to everyone's needs. To meet the demand of real skiers, the Côte-de-Beaupré has an original concept allowing you to get a ticket for three major destinations, Stoneham, Le Massif and obviously, Mont Sainte-Anne.

Cross Country Skiing
With 224 km of mapped trails, 125 km of which is adapted for the skate step, the Mont-Sainte-Anne ski centre is the most important in Canada and 2nd in all of North America. The variety of trails, the quality of its instructors, the impeccable up-keep of the trails and the beauty of the environment, are only a few of the qualifying factors that describe it.

Spa

Rest and relaxation is also something of a local specialty. Recharge your batteries at one of our well-known health centers. Pamper yourself from head to toe at Centre de santé Spa Château or get the Zonespa treatment at a Nordic spa that offers the very best relaxation rituals in perfect harmony with nature. Cycling

New! Marie-Hélène-Prémont cycling road!

This summer 2006, enjoy 55 km of biking pleasure on the new Veloroute Marie-Hélène-Prémont! Following Europeen tradition through the heart of the first villages of the Nouvelle France. You will experience 7 rural Municipalities, breathtaking scenery and turn of the century architecture along the way.

Connected directly from the Littoral corridor which ends at Montmorency Fall, the new Veloroute Marie-Hélène-Prémont is on a designated cyclist country road that leads to the Cap Tourmente National Wildlife Area and up to Mont- Sainte-Anne, the mountain bike meca with its world famous trails.

On the Côte-de-Beaupré, many sport lovers will test their mountain bike talents on our Mont-Ste-Anne circuits. Considered as the Meca of this sport, the mountain also welcomes world cup competitions during the Véllirium. You may wish for more tranquility with the family on other picturesque routes. Saint-Joachim proposes a 10 km loop leading you to the Grande Ferme and the Domaine Royarnois Vineyard, while passing through the Cap Tourmente National Wildlife Area. Also, the Route de la Nouvelle-France is becoming more and more popular with cyclists, who take advantage of their ride to discover the well preserved heritage of the region.
